An Australian woman tried to play victim on a morning television programme after testing positive for COVID-19 in Fiji…
… Twitter wasn’t having it.
After the interview was posted online, Fijians and Australians alike accused the woman of being a “Karen” (meaning a privileged white woman). And of “leaving her brain in Australia” en route to Fiji.
Most users pointed out the obvious: that the woman should have expected the possibility of getting COVID while traveling in a pandemic…
Some Twitter users praised Fijian officials for acting quickly to isolate the woman and limit the spread of the virus.
Many users also pointed out that the woman almost certainly contracted the virus in Australia and was stopped from spreading it further among the Fijian community.
Moral of the story, if you travel during the pandemic, be prepared to test positive. And when you do, expect to placed in quarantine!

People that do this only think of themselves and do not care about others’ welfare. As soon as she is covid- free after quarantine, she should be immediately returned to Australia.
